Fall 2025 SPPS students exchanged their iPads. The new iPads did NOT have a 3.5mm audio jack, instead they have a single USB-C port. - Note: Wireless/Bluetooth headphones/headsets are not allowed for testing.
Options for headphones and headsets:
- USB-C to 3.5 mm adapters to allow current headphones/headsets to be used with new iPads
- Available to purchase through eProcurement in the catalog under Technology Services
- Purchase new headphones and headsets
- Some headphones/headsets are having issues and not playing all sound. Cheaper USB-C Headphones and Adapters often have audio latency issues when converting the sound from digital to analog. The following headphones/headsets have been tested and are excellent choices that deliver consistent audio performance.

Headphones used for testing must be wired, Bluetooth/wireless headphones are not allowed. Schools are responsible for ensuring that students have working headphones/headsets for testing.
- Assessments that require headphones: CogAT, FAST Literacy, HMH Math, MCA, Savaas Math, STAMP, WIDA ACCESS, WIDA Screener
- Assessments that require headsets (with microphone) for at least one part of the test: STAMP, WIDA ACCESS
