Funds set aside to support emerging needs created by the continuing COVID-19 pandemic

To replace, upgrade and improve the indoor air quality (IAQ) in schools through mechanical and non-mechanical heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

The summary below combines the following ARP strategies:

• Indoor Air Quality Improvements (Filtration): Funding for MERV-11 or higher air filters in all occupied spaces in accordance with federal and state guidelines to support safer learning environments.
• Custodial Staff: Additional staff to maintain daily cleaning, disinfection and building operation protocols that meet CDC and Minnesota Department of Health guidelines, and to repair systems as needed.
• Facilities Staff: Additional staff to maintain and enhance systems that support healthy learning environments, such as ventilation and handwashing facilities. 

Additional Nutrition Services staff will enhance cleaning standards in cafeterias.

Remove health-related barriers for students and promote access to care and resources that reduce health-related risks both in school and with community health partners.

Monetary incentive for recruiting and retaining school bus drivers.

Reducing barriers that prevent students and staff from learning efficiently while in schools or at home and ensuring timely access to technical support and services.

Purchasing supplies that meet COVID-19 foodservice standards for safely serving breakfast and lunch in the classroom.

Purchase personal protective equipment for all schools to provide safe learning environments and ensure health and safety measures follow CDC guidelines.
